James
The founder of  comfort ministries was born in a remote village called”Gundupalem”,Andhra Pradesh of South India. He comes from Fishermen community and practiced orthodox Hindu religious rituals and activities.
Regarding his educational life: He struggled a lot to have his education financially, and also faced difficulty for his community. Vijay’s personal journey toward spiritual reality began at the age of 18 when he gave his heart to Christ. While he was still a young boy, his mother began to fast and pray every week, praying to God would call her elder son that is Vijay Kumar.

By knowing all the struggles of the pastoral life(struggles like no food, clothes, and persecution etc) Brother Vijay Kumar hated to have a pastoral life. He always thought about his future life to become an engineer, but his mother’s prayer were answered in 1993,.so he began to walk in His light and searching the  word of god to have a real meaning in his life.

In 1993 he attended the Bible College for his Theological education and completed his  Master of Divinity(M.Div).Later he was appointed as a Bible college lecturer and promoted to Dean, Coordinator, and the Principal .He was proved his leadership abilities and many appreciated him as a young and energetic man of god. With his salary he supported missionaries who are reaching people with the gospel in the coastal area.

Mean while his mother was passed away due to the surgery failure and lack of finance to take care of her health. Vijay Kumar became a stronger Christian than before in his commitment to fulfill his mother’s and his vision which is the same to reach the unreached coastal community.

The love of God compelled him to reach the unreached people with word and deed. So he was unable to forget about his fishermen community who lost their lives in earthly calamities when they went for fishing.

He left the bible college and fasted for 40days for growth of comfort ministries .God answered his prayers by extending the comfort ministries by sending a man of god Jim and team from USA, who visited at the time of Tsunami and became channel of blessing for comfort ministries..

Words from Channel of blessing:

By way of a little background information, when I first met Pastor Vijay in February, 2005 his village had mostly recovered from the tsunami less than two months prior.  However, their greatest physical needs were fresh water, boats and nets, all of which had been destroyed by the tsunami. Before leaving, myself and Pastor Steve Muller (who was with me) traveled to the nearest city with Pastor Vijay and purchased enough netting material to put the village back to work. To this day however, the women and children walk great distances carrying buckets and water cans to get fresh water and bring it back to their village.  There is no fresh water available any longer in the village of Vijay Kumar.
At this time there were 12 churches that Pastor Vijay was sheparding with about 600 believers.  When we arrived he was at a low point personally with the recent death of his mother, and failing health of his father who had been the village pastor and was nearly ready to throw in the towel.  Upon our arrival and following a lengthy discussion about fishermen community.

Pastor Vijay over immediate needs for the fishermen community he informed me that he had been fasting and praying for 40 days that the Lord would send someone.  We had no idea from the original planning of our trip up that very moment that this encounter had been divinely ordained and we were the help that the Lord was sending in answer to Vijay's prayers.  The power of the Holy Spirit completely saturated my entire being and was as close to a heavenly experience as I've ever had,

Second only to salvation itself.  I was blubbering like a little baby and was speechless for a time (imagine that!).  When we returned to the village from purchasing the nets the entire village packed the local church and were literally hanging from the window frames pressing their ears inward to hear the message we preached on the spur of the moment.  I'll never forget any of that.

Now three years later, 12 new churches have been planted by comfort pastors  and have reached another 600+ people who have made decisions for Christ and have been baptized. And the work continues, despite death, threats and tremendous resistance . and persecution.  Some believers have been severely beaten and yet will not relent from their outward display of love of the Lord and evangelism

Lost his both hands:

He is Ramanajaneyulu was born in brought up in very poor family. At his 9years old he was working as child labor in Oil Mill ,.While he was working his both hands were pulled into the  Oil machine and his both hands were broken, he is unable to use his hands to write and eat and other his personal activities..

He totally discouraged and thinking that he cannot do any thing, study, or other Job. One day one of his teacher encouraged him to write with his mouth. And he learned and practiced now he can write and read well. Now he could complete the degree with the help of comfort ministries and others. Now he is seeking for the financial resources for his education. He is witnessing that comfort ministries is the channel of encouragement and comfort and blessing to the needy people.
